 IBM Maximo MAS Technical Analyst

1.0 Description of Assignment

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is undertaking an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) implementation initiative leveraging IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Manage to modernize and standardize asset and maintenance management processes across public transit operations.

The objective of this engagement is to implement, configure, and deploy MAS Manage and other modules to support core EAM business capabilities, including asset lifecycle management, work management, preventive maintenance, inventory, procurement, and integration with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.

This initiative also includes the implementation of Asset Configuration Manager (ACM) to enable condition-based maintenance strategies and improved asset health monitoring.

TTC requires a highly experienced IBM Maximo (MAS) Technical Analyst to translate business requirements into practical implementation, system configuration, application customization, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

The consultant will work closely with functional consultants, business SMEs, IT teams, and project stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable, and compliant MAS configurations aligned with TTC’s corporate asset management standards and ISO 55000 principles.

Work Schedule / Location:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • 61 Front Street West, 4th Floor, IT Services
  • Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the office
  • Work may also be performed at another TTC location within the City of Toronto

2.0 Skills and Certifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with MAS Manage configuration and implementation, preferably within a large public sector or public transit environment.
  • Strong understanding of EAM business processes, including Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance, Assets, Locations, Inventory, and Procurement.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Maximo Technical Analyst working with IBM Maximo 7.6.1+, including recent MAS 8.x/9.x experience.
  • Experience transforming business requirements into technical requirements and translating them into system configuration.
  • Expertise in Maximo configuration, including applications, domains, workflows, escalations, communication templates, cron tasks, and security groups.
  • Experience with automation scripts using Python/Jython.
  • Experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST, and OSLC APIs.
  • Experience with system deployment across Dev/Test/UAT/Production environments.
  • Experience supporting data migration, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Strong technical, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing Asset Condition Management (ACM), including condition monitoring, meter groups, and condition-based maintenance, is considered an added asset.

3.0 Assignment Duties

  1. Support business requirements workshops with SMEs and stakeholders.
  2. Analyze and apply business requirements and translate them into MAS configuration.
  3. Configure and customize MAS Manage, Predict, and Health modules, including Work Orders, PM, Assets, Locations, Inventory, and Procurement.
  4. Implement and configure Asset Condition Management (ACM).
  5. Develop automation scripts using Python/Jython.
  6. Configure workflows, escalations, communication templates, and cron tasks.
  7. Configure security groups, roles, and access controls.
  8. Develop and support integrations using MIF and REST/OSLC APIs.
  9. Support data migration, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
  10. Prepare technical and functional documentation, including specifications, design, deployment, and testing documentation.
  11. Conduct unit testing and support SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
  12. Deploy configurations across Dev/Test/UAT/Production environments.
  13. Provide go-live and post-implementation support.
  14. Participate in project meetings, reporting, and status updates.

4.0 Deliverables

  1. Requirements workshops with SMEs.
  2. MAS Manage configuration, including Work Orders, PM, Assets, and Locations.
  3. ACM configuration, including condition monitoring and CBM triggers.
  4. Security configuration.
  5. Workflow and escalation setup.
  6. Automation script development.
  7. Unit testing.
  8. SME walkthroughs.
  9. Environment migrations/refresh.
