Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Quality Advisor to join the Systems Completion and Quality group within Global Projects, based at the Houston campus in Spring, Texas. This is a newly created role, established after Global Projects recognized over the past year the need for a consistent quality program across its Brownfield project sites. The Senior Quality Advisor will partner with the Brownfield Projects organization to align each site on quality standards and a common technical framework, then help those sites build and staff their own local quality organizations. This is a program implementation role, not an execution role, with the strongest emphasis on procurement and construction quality and a focus on quality assurance over quality control. Near-term work centers on U.S. Gulf Coast sites, with international reach to Europe, Nigeria, Guyana, and Singapore as the program expands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the rollout of a new quality program across Brownfield project sites, starting with the U.S. Gulf Coast and extending to international locations.
  • Partner with each site to align on the quality standards and technical framework the program will work toward.
  • Assess the quality maturity of each site and tailor support, providing hands-on guidance where programs are new and lighter-touch oversight where they are established.
  • Identify each site's quality resource needs and help local teams define, staff, and stand up their quality organizations.
  • Drive quality assurance planning, defining up front what must be done from a quality management standpoint across engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Guide procurement quality programs, including source inspection and supplier surveillance, and help teams understand what happens in vendor shops.
  • Articulate procurement and construction quality risks so project teams can prioritize where to focus attention.
  • Apply practical field construction quality experience to strengthen site QA/QC practices and management.
  • Support local sites through the change management required to adopt the new quality program.
  • Influence stakeholders across multinational teams with different cultures and ways of working to build alignment on quality expectations.
  • Travel to domestic and international sites to build face-to-face relationships, with trips typically lasting up to one week.
  • Maintain ongoing interface with site teams after programs are running to sustain implementation and address emerging needs.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written materials and presentations for site teams and Global Projects leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of progressive quality experience on capital projects in an industrial environment.
  • Owner-side experience working on behalf of a major International Oil Company (IOC) for a sustained period.
  • In-depth procurement quality experience, including managing source inspection and supplier surveillance on projects.
  • In-depth construction quality experience, including practical field experience and quality management on site.
  • Quality management experience weighted toward quality assurance and program planning, supported by a solid quality control foundation.
  • General understanding of engineering quality and how it fits within the project lifecycle.
  • A consistent career track within the quality discipline, with sustained tenure on assignments and clear progression from QC toward QA and management.
  • Proven ability to influence teams and work effectively across cultures in a multinational environment.
  • Experience leading or supporting organizations through change, including adoption of new processes or programs.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build working relationships quickly at new sites.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to major project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering or a related technical field. Candidates who came up through a trade path or entry-level quality roles are also considered.
  • Previous company experience.
  • International project experience, particularly in Europe, West Africa, South America, or Asia Pacific.
  • Hands-on engineering quality experience.
  • Experience supporting Brownfield projects across multiple sites with varying levels of quality program maturity.
