Raise is currently hiring a Data Scientist team member on behalf of our client, a leading financial institution.

Description

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Data Scientist to contribute to the Dual Risk Rating Project, focusing on downstream impacts including the implementation and development of Moody’s Portfolio Studio for stress testing and predictive analytics.

In this role, you will develop, test, and deploy machine learning and AI models to generate predictive insights about clients, optimize organizational decision-making, and enhance portfolio management capabilities. The position requires hands-on coding, data pipeline development, and analytics research, alongside collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors at Moody’s Analytics.

The ideal candidate is solution-oriented, analytical, and capable of translating complex business challenges into actionable data solutions. You will be expected to combine technical expertise with business understanding to deliver insights that directly inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy predictive models using machine learning and AI techniques to analyze client behavior and portfolio risk.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis using Moody’s Portfolio Studio tools.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure model development aligns with project goals.
  • Perform statistical analysis and econometric modeling to support business decisions.
  • Translate complex analytics outputs into actionable insights for teams and leadership.
  • Research and implement innovative data science methodologies to improve predictive capabilities.
  • Communicate findings effectively through visualizations, presentations, and clear explanations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Must have Technical Skills:

  • Coding: Proficiency in Python and SQL for model development, data processing, and analytics automation.
  • Data Science & Modeling: Experience with machine learning, AI, predictive modeling, and statistical techniques.
  • Econometrics/Economics: Strong foundation in quantitative methods, applied econometrics, and economic modeling relevant to financial risk.
  • Analytics Tools: Familiarity with Moody’s Portfolio Studio or similar risk analytics software is highly desirable.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong communication and speaking ability, capable of translating technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to address complex challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, demonstrating persistence and initiative to deliver high-quality analytical solutions.
