Pay Rate: Up to $41.71-$48.07/hour, depending on experience

Contract Length: 78 weeks

Raise is currently hiring a Financial Analyst on behalf of our client. They're expanding their Financial Reporting team to support quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, making this an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to contribute to financial analysis, regulatory reporting, and continuous process improvements in a collaborative corporate environment. Our client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Financial Analyst supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting, including Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), financial statements, regulatory reporting, and accounting analysis. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, this role works closely with internal business units, auditors, and finance stakeholders to ensure high-quality financial reporting while supporting compliance with accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements.

The successful candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong relationships across finance and business teams.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of Quarterly and Annual Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
  • Prepare financial statement support schedules and working papers.
  • Coordinate with business units to gather financial information and supporting analysis.
  • Support external audit requirements by preparing documentation and responding to accounting and reporting inquiries.
  • Reconcile financial data and maintain accurate supporting documentation.

Financial Analysis & Compliance

  • Analyze financial information, accounting transactions, and reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain Excel models supporting financial reporting and compliance activities.
  • Assist in preparing pension plan financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Ensure reporting complies with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and workflows.
  • Support implementation of best practices and reporting efficiencies.
  • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline  from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience preparing Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other recognized accounting standards.
  • Experience working with SAP, BPC, Workiva, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and/or Power BI.
  • Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong process improvement mindset with attention to detail.
