Senior Refinery Economist (LP Optimization & Planning)
- Pay Rate: $83.00 – $110.00/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 10 months

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
Economist will directly impact site margin and competitiveness by guiding the refinery & olefins plant production planning process. They are expected to enhance profitability and establish and maintain quality work practices for economic modelling.
General Responsibilities
- Provide economic guidance for production planning of Beaumont Complex
- Align strategies across business lines including refining, olefins and aromatics
- Advise on near-term business opportunities;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support maintenance of economic tools and advise on model validation reviews
- Generate and analyze linear program (i.e. Aspen PIMS) results for turnaround planning & other strategic decisions
- Identify and evaluate opportunities and risks related to unit outages and maintenance activities to minimize margin losses
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in refining, petrochemical, or integrated manufacturing operations.
- Strong expertise in LP modeling and optimization tools (Aspen PIMS or equivalent).
- Proven ability to perform economic evaluations, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and cross-business alignment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence decision-making across diverse teams.
