IT Test Automation Developer & Performance Tester
- Pay Rate: $62.25/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 52 weeks
- Location: Fully Remote – Canada

Raise is currently hiring an IT Test Automation Developer & Performance Tester on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced test automation professional to support enterprise technology initiatives, develop automated testing solutions, and improve testing efficiency across complex business applications. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Test Automation Analyst 2 will plan, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions while supporting performance testing activities for enterprise applications.
This role will work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, and functional testing teams to identify automation opportunities, develop test scripts, analyze defects, and support performance requirements.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of automation frameworks and testing capabilities while ensuring scripts follow organizational standards for quality, version control, and data management.
The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on automation experience, particularly with Tosca, along with functional knowledge of SAP modules and business processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and solutions.
- Work closely with functional testing teams to understand test cases, test data, issues, and automation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Tosca and other appropriate testing tools.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and other technical professionals to support testing activities.
- Review business and technical requirements to identify automation and performance testing opportunities.
- Plan and execute performance testing activities to validate application responsiveness, availability, and scalability.
- Identify, analyze, and document software defects and inconsistencies.
- Work with developers and business analysts to investigate and resolve testing issues.
- Analyze performance data and identify potential system or network bottlenecks.
- Provide recommendations for performance tuning and optimization.
- Maintain and enhance automation libraries and frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to increase testing efficiency through automation.
- Follow organizational coding, data management, version control, and testing standards.
- Ensure automation scripts are properly maintained, documented, and accessible across test environments.
- Support continuous improvement of enterprise testing capabilities.
- Communicate test results, issues, recommendations, and project status to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of test automation and/or performance testing experience.
- Strong hands-on Tosca experience and functional knowledge of SAP modules.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and performance testing.
- Advanced automation scripting and development skills.
- Experience with Tosca, SAP, Oracle, and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or comparable platforms.
- Experience with test management, defect tracking, and monitoring tools.
- Programming/scripting experience with C, C#, Java, Python, Perl, VB, or similar languages.
- Database and network performance testing experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of software development processes, testing methodologies, and tools.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Experience with defect identification, troubleshooting, and application performance analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams in a remote environment.
- Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Large enterprise, utility, ERP, or SAP transformation experience.
- Database performance testing experience.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Experience with HP QC/ALM or similar test management tools.
- Additional SAP testing and automation experience.
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
