Senior Execution Planning Advisor
- Contract Length: 14 months
- Location: Spring, TX 77389
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Execution Planning / Schedule Engineer to lead planning and scheduling for a confidential program made up of multiple interdependent projects working toward startup. The team has already gathered input across a large number of internal and external workstreams, and this role turns that input into a robust, pressure-tested schedule with a clear critical path. The engineer will build detailed schedules, roll them up into Level 1 views for company management, and give the project team a clear list of priorities for the weeks ahead. This is a dedicated planning role for a proven, independent planner who tests assumptions and verifies inputs, not a cost engineering or administrative coordination position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed, integrated schedule across multiple interdependent projects and internal and external deliverables.
- Pressure test existing workstream inputs, challenging durations and assumptions to determine whether plans are conservative, aggressive, or realistic.
- Define the true critical path and identify which workstreams need focus now and which can be monitored.
- Roll up detailed schedules into Level 1 through Level 3 views that show senior management the critical path, key opportunities, and schedule risks.
- Present clear, data-backed recommendations to company management on priorities, sequencing, and which workstreams to accelerate or pause.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to understand the scope, duration, and progress of each workstream.
- Lead regular check-ins with workstream owners and report on what is on track, behind, or not yet started, and why.
- Influence project and workstream managers without direct authority, standing behind the analysis with conviction.
- Track a high volume of workstreams through a structured, automated system and catch changes that could shift the critical path.
- Manage and report on project milestones and schedule adherence, supporting stakeholder meetings, gating, and program governance.
- Establish and steward schedule processes, including Management of Change and monthly planning reports.
- Build schedule visualizations in Smartsheet and Excel and champion improvements to project velocity and value delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling roles.
- Proven track record of independently building project plans and schedules, defining the critical path, and rolling detailed schedules up to management-level views.
- Demonstrated experience with project planning tools such as Primavera P6, with the ability to quickly come up to speed in Smartsheet.
- Strong analytical judgment and the confidence to challenge stakeholder inputs and test schedule assumptions.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence without authority across internal and external teams.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including delivering clear recommendations to senior management.
- Able to work independently and deliver quality output from day one with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Planning and scheduling experience on company projects, including familiarity with company planning terminology and schedule levels.
- Experience planning capital projects or other complex programs with many interdependent workstreams.
