Our client invites applications for one (1) an experienced Instrumentation Engineer with expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems to join our Water and Wastewater Team. As a part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects involving the assessment, planning, study, design, approval, and construction administration of public, Indigenous, and some private sector water and wastewater infrastructure. This position may be based at any of the Ontario office locations noted above, with limited travel required for inter-office collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Water and Wastewater team, you will:

·       Developing instrumentation and control system designs, including P&IDs, layouts, and Process Control Narratives.

·       Designing and supporting SCADA system architectures, PLC programming, and communication protocols.

·       Guiding clients in selecting automation and instrumentation solutions that improve efficiency and reliability in treatment facilities.

·       Leading commissioning activities and troubleshooting systems to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

·       Bringing forward innovations such as cloud-based SCADA, IoT, and predictive analytics to strengthen water management.

 

Practically speaking, you will:

·       Prepare detailed engineering documents including reports, specifications, and drawings.

·       Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations.

·       Support construction and commissioning phases by reviewing submittals, testing systems, and assisting with startup.

·       Collaborate with engineers, project managers, CAD staff, contractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope.

·       Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations across all project work.

·       Develop proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work to support business development.

·       Your work contributes to securing new opportunities and strengthening long-term client partnerships.

·       You enhance the Water & Wastewater team by integrating modern automation technologies and advancing digital control capabilities.

What you will bring:

·       A degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering (or related).

·       5+ years of experience in design and commissioning of I&C systems for water/wastewater facilities for municipalities.

·       Proven skills in PLC programming, SCADA platforms, and field instrumentation.

·       Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for control systems in critical infrastructure.

·       Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly in the field.

·       Excellent communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills.

·       Ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience

·       Project management or leadership experience.

·       Certifications in SCADA, PLCs, or industrial automation.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and one additional day each week.
