Contracts Advisor

Raise is currently hiring a Contracts Advisor on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client, is the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Contract Advisor in this role will be responsible for managing the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and compliance. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure that all contracts meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including service agreements, supply contracts, and other legal documents.
- Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and other departments to address contract-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts and related documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract management processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for contract-related risks.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Resolve contract disputes and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations affecting contracts and procurement.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in contract management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of contract law and industry standards.
- Proven experience managing contracts from drafting and negotiation through to execution, amendments, and termination.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements. (e.g., energy/oil and gas laws, procurement standards).
- Education and Skills
- Post-Secondary Degree I related field such as Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
