Job Overview
The SR Analyst, O&M – Financial Analyst IV is responsible for leading and overseeing month-end financial activities, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for assigned business units or central functions. This role ensures alignment with financial targets and provides insightful reporting and recommendations to senior leadership. Acting as a key finance partner, the analyst delivers strategic financial guidance to support informed decision-making and drive operational and financial performance for the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee month-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for assigned business units
- Manage and analyze Operations and Maintenance (O&M) costs to ensure alignment with financial targets
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports (budgets, forecasts, and actuals) to senior leadership, including actionable recommendations
- Serve as a finance lead supporting Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers with financial insights and performance analysis
- Provide financial counsel and support to business partners to enable effective strategic and operational decisions
- Develop and standardize analytical approaches to improve financial reporting and insights across operating groups
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand, validate, and improve financial data and forecasting processes
- Participate in departmental meetings to enhance business knowledge and strengthen collaboration
- Support forecasting cycles, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning processes
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-making
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal financial reporting standards
- Support SOX controls, audit requirements, and risk management initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support system enhancements within finance operations
- Promote awareness and adherence to company policies across departments
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within finance
- Manage operating budgets and recommend cost optimization and financial performance strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Professional designation (CPA, CMA, CA, CGA) or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or business performance analytics
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience presenting financial information and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools such as SAP, Oracle, and Power BI preferred
- Solid understanding of financial management practices, regulatory environments, and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Experience driving process improvements and optimizing workflows
- Knowledge of regulatory environments is an asset
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability and initiative
