Role Summary 

As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll work hands-on in a cleanroom environment to build and test our multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment that’s behind the technology we use every day. You'll be responsible for building, repairing, and testing various types of equipment—including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies, and components. You will perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repairs—and perform audits to ensure necessary parts are available and inspected for defects. Using test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps you'll test assemblies, complete documentation, perform repairs, or install software to continuously improve our processes.

Project Details & Logistics

• Location: Austin, TX

• Role Type: Contract – 18-month assignment with opportunity to convert

• Pay Range: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour (Plus Shift Differentials)

• Starting Rate: Determined based on years of applicable mechanical/technical experience.

• Skills Assessment: Final pay offers are contingent upon the results of onsite skills testing (hand tools and assembly sequences).

Work Schedule & Compensation

We offer various shift options including standard 8-hour shifts and 10-hour Compressed Work Weeks (CWW).

Available Shifts:

• 1st Shift (Day): Mon–Fri | Start between 5:00 AM – 6:30 AM.

• 2nd Shift (Swing): Mon–Fri | Start between 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

• 3rd Shift (Night): Mon–Fri | Start at 10:00 PM.

• Weekend Shifts: Fri–Mon | Weekends ONLY: Fri & Sat.

Shift Differentials (Earn More per Hour!):

• 2nd Shift (Swing): +10%

• 3rd Shift (Night): +13%

• Weekend Day: +10%

• Weekend Swing: +18%

• Weekend Night: +23%

Key Responsibilities

• Use work orders (including schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and instructions) to build, repair and/or test equipment of various kinds.

• Work under moderate supervision to perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs.

• Receive parts and perform audits to ensure all necessary parts are available; inspect parts for defects; troubleshoot and improve processes.

• Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and/or vacuum pumps to test assemblies, subassemblies and components.

• Complete required job documentation (data entry) about progress, work expense and labor details.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma.

• Experience: 1–2 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry (Automotive, Aviation, Diesel, HVAC) or military experience.

• Skills: Ability to follow standard operation procedures (written and verbal) and knowledge of basic hand tools.

• Preferred: Associate’s degree, technical certifications (ASSEET, BSEET), or strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements & Environment

This is a physically demanding position that requires standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, and climbing.

• Cleanroom Protocol: Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.

• Safety: Must be able to distinguish between colors and work in an environment with noise. Use of hand/power tools and heavy machinery (forklifts) may be required.
