Raise is currently hiring a Commissioning & Startup (C&SU) Coordinator on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.
Description
The Commissioning & Start-Up (C&SU) Coordinator in this role provides critical leadership role responsible for the safe and efficient transition of systems from construction to operational status. You will lead field commissioning teams, collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering groups, and ensure that all technical deliverables meet ’s high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all work taken by him/her or his/her crew are completed in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements.
- Responsible for leading the commissioning team to execute commissioning work safely and efficiently as per approved plans.
- Responsible for planning of the commissioning work on multiple projects and collaborating with the project engineering and construction management teams.
- Responsible for execution of the commissioning activities in the field ensuring commissioning activities are executed according to commissioning plans and schedules.
- Responsible for daily coordination with operations personnel and construction personnel in the completion of commissioning activities
- Responsible to obtain and organize permits, equipment and tools required for the commissioning field teams to execute work.
- Responsible to verify completion and accuracy of tasks performed by the commissioning field team.
- Accountable for the quality of the turnover documents accepted by the commissioning group.
- Accountable to ensure work is completed in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Qualifications
- Intermediate (4-9yrs), Senior (10+yrs) of Industrial Experience with an extensive background in commissioning and start-up within high-stakes industrial environments (e.g., mining, nuclear, or heavy utilities).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing commissioning plans, including the management of turnover packages (TOPs).
- Deep understanding of the administrative side of field work, including permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and resource scheduling.
- Experience ensuring that all field work is completed in strict accordance with engineering drawings, QA/QC standards, and project specifications.
- Expertise in Commissioning Management Systems (CMS).
- Strong proficiency in reading P&IDs, Isometrics, and Single Line Diagrams.
- Exceptional communication skills for daily operational coordination.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in complex mechanical or instrumentation systems.
- Education and Certifications
- Mechanical or Instrumentation trades is highly preferred

- As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required
