Data Protection & Cyber Recovery Implementation Specialist (IBM Platform)

Responsibilities:
- Implement IBM Storage Protect modernization, including:
- Migration to container storage pools
- Disk-based retention strategies
- Backup scheduling and optimization
- Configure backup policies and lifecycle automation (tiering, replication, retention, synthetic full backups)
- Deploy and configure:
- IBM FlashSystem FS9500 storage
- Safeguarded Copy (immutable snapshot policies)
- Cross-site replication and disaster recovery capabilities
- Implement Predatar orchestration, including:
- Recovery testing automation
- Malware scanning and anomaly detection
- Clean-copy validation workflows
- Deploy IBM Storage Defender components (DRS, Sentinel), including:
- SaaS tenant integration (metadata only)
- Deployment of DRS connectors
- Creation of Recovery groups
- Telemetry, anomaly detection, and alerting
- SOC/SIEM integration
- Build and validate Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE):
- Network segmentation and access controls
- Recovery simulation and validation testing
- Execute backup and restore optimization, including:
- DB2 log orchestration
- Performance tuning and throughput improvements
- Recovery baseline measurement and validation
- Perform cyber recovery testing, including:
- Malware simulation drills
- Cleanroom recovery validation
- RTO/RPO measurement and reporting
- Develop runbooks, operational documentation, and dashboards
- Support cutover, go-live, and steady-state operations
Key Skills & Experience
- 5–10 years in enterprise backup, storage, and DR implementation
- Hands-on expertise in:
- IBM Storage Protect (TSM)
- IBM Storage Defender / DRS / Sentinel
- Predatar Cyber Recovery Orchestration
- IBM FlashSystem and Safeguarded Copy
- Experience with AIX, DB2, VMware, Linux, Windows environments
- Strong skills in backup configuration, restore testing, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with automation, scripting, and orchestration tools
- Experience with monitoring, reporting, and ITSM/SOC integration
