The Raise has partnered with our client, a respected organization within the nuclear industry, supporting critical manufacturing, inspection, and quality assurance activities for nuclear projects. They are seeking an experienced Quality Specialist (Mechanical Support) to support inspection, compliance, and quality documentation activities within a highly regulated environment.

Summary

The Quality Specialist (Mechanical Support) will support mechanical quality assurance and inspection activities related to nuclear manufacturing and project execution. The role is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final mechanical inspections while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, technical specifications, and client requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal quality teams, manufacturing personnel, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders to support inspection planning, component verification, documentation completion, and source surveillance activities.

Major Duties

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final mechanical inspections.
  • Create, review, and maintain Mechanical Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Verify mechanical components and ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate and support TSSA liaison and ANI inspection activities.
  • Complete and submit History Docket documentation to client quality departments, including Bruce Power Quality.
  • Conduct source surveillance and supplier quality oversight activities.
  • Support resolution of quality-related issues and non-conformance investigations.
  • Ensure all quality activities comply with applicable nuclear industry standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in mechanical quality inspection within nuclear, manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting regulated quality assurance programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality standards and inspection processes is considered an asset.

Required Qualifications

  • CWB Level II Certified or CWB Supervisor Certified, at minimum.
  • Valid OPG Security Clearance is required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of mechanical inspection processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Knowledge of welding inspections, fabrication processes, and mechanical component verification.
  • Familiarity with TSSA and ANI inspection coordination processes is considered an asset.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, inspectors, and client stakeholders.
