Application Support Analyst
- Pay Rate: $49.32/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 4 Months

Raise is currently hiring a Application Support Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Application Support Analyst in this will role will join the OneStop Support Team within the Information Management & Technology (IMT) Branch. The OneStop platform is a critical online system designed to streamline the application process for Alberta’s Oil & Gas Industry and support better-informed decision-making. This role operates within an Agile/Kanban methodology framework and requires a strong technical background combined with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills to ensure the stability and sustainability of the OneStop product suite.
Deliverables
- OneStop is an online platform designed to streamline the application process for Alberta’s O&G
- Industry, while at the same time, supporting better-informed decision making. The OneStop product is being supported using Agile / Kanban Methodology that specifically aligns to the software development process and business engagement needs.
Responsibilities
- Performing analysis, troubleshooting, identifying root cause and resolution of OneStop support inquiries.
- Creating and maintaining operational support documentation and adding to the team knowledge base.
- Technical Administration within Azure DevOps and ASM/ServiceNow using ITIL best practices.
- Performing various database related tasks, such as SQL database queries and scripts to analyze and fix data.
- Consulting and collaborating with people: end-users, developers, quality assurance and business analysts, to identify technical errors and requirements for resolution.
- Proactive systems monitoring.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and willingness to work on implementing them.
- Ensuring software is stable and sustainable by guiding project teams during warranty periods
Qualifications
- Background or knowledge of oil and gas upstream activities or the regulatory work associated with industry
- 3+ years of progressive experience in an Application Support, Technical Support, or Application Analyst role, preferably supporting complex enterprise-level applications. (Experience in software troubleshooting and support)
- 3 years of experience with programming with strong coding and scripting skills (MS SQL, Powershell, Python)
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases (MS-QL & MYSQL)
- Experience with continuous integration and related tools such as Git
- Experience using Azure DevOps and ServiceNow
- Experience with some of the following would be considered an asset: Node JS, Tibco, OpenText AppWorks, SharePoint, JavaScript, MongoDB, .NET
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure)
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with previous practical experience in an agile/scrum project environment
- Must have experience and understanding of a variety of technologies and software, and the aptitude to expand their knowledge base as required.
- Ability to escalate a problem if and when necessary
- Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s in information technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Strong communication skills and process documentation skills
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
- Friendly and outgoing with a positive and cooperative attitude
- Able to successfully work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, with ability to multi-task
- Able to identify problems, creatively think of solutions, and decide on the best course of action regarding the situation.

- Candidates in this role will be working a hybrid schedule with at least 4 days in the office
