  • Pay Rate: $43.00/hour on W2
  • Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension and conversion
  • Location: Houston, TX 77002 or Charleston, WV 25314 (Hybrid)
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | Core business hours

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • The Senior Buyer will lead material procurement management for assigned projects of varying complexity.
  • This role is responsible for managing sourcing activities, supplier relationships, procurement strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to support project and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead material procurement management for assigned projects.
  • Conduct bid spreadsheet analyses and commercial evaluations of supplier proposals.
  • Coordinate overall evaluations with project stakeholders and support negotiations with suppliers.
  • Develop, issue, and manage sourcing documents including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for purchase orders within the assigned area.
  • Liaise with bidders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders such as supplier qualification, engineering, project teams, Legal, and Risk.
  • Maintain and leverage industry relationships with suppliers of interstate natural gas pipe, valves, fittings, and other key categories.
  • Ensure full understanding and compliance with purchase order terms and conditions when working with suppliers.
  • Ensure all required information is captured and maintained in SAP records.
  • Review and understand bill of materials and technical specifications.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and execute cost savings, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Resolve complex issues that may impact major business segments.
  • Develop and present recommendations to business leaders regarding cost drivers, supplier performance, and industry trends.
  • Proactively identify future Supply Chain needs and sourcing opportunities using data, business requirements, and market analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year university degree) in a relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Designation or certification in a Supply Chain Management program.
  • Strong strategic thinking and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience purchasing natural gas equipment such as pipe, valves, fittings, and engineered equipment.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Technical and commercial experience with materials and services related to midstream operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Proven track record of delivering results and meeting goals.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Experience conducting RFPs for pipeline and facilities construction within the natural gas industry.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with strong time management and prioritization skills.
