Raise is currently hiring a Senior Buyer – Capital Procurement on behalf of our client. Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.
Description
The Senior Buyer – Capital Procurement will serves as a centralized, full-service procurement resource to our clients Engineering organization, supporting all commercial and sourcing requirements across capital projects. This role develops and executes procurement strategies for engineering and construction related services, equipment purchases, and is responsible for all aspects of the procurement lifecycle from strategy development through sourcing, negotiation, contract execution, and purchase order issuance.

- Role may require coordination across multiple projects and suppliers simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain procurement strategies for capital projects
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFP development, supplier qualification, bid evaluation and recommendations, approvals, negotiation, and contract award.
- Manage procurement of capital equipment, engineered systems, and construction-related services.
- Collaborate with Owner’s Project Managers to assemble various scope, technical requirements, and sourcing strategies.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and contractual agreements
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on capital projects or capital equipment sourcing.
- Proven experience working with Owner’s Project Managers and engineering firms.
- Contract negotiation and execution of complex commercial agreements.
- Experience developing and implementing procurement strategies for large-scale capital projects.
- Familiarity with sourcing complex equipment such as mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
- Proficiency with: SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fieldglass, Ariba Sourcing, Ariba Contracts
- Strong knowledge of RFx processes and contract lifecycle management.
