Associate Biologist

  • Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00/hour
  • Contract Length: 7 months
  • Location: Saskatoon, SK S7K 1N2 (Onsite)
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 30-minute lunch

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • We are currently looking for an Associate Biologist to assist in the establishment, management, and evaluation of trials involving herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, nutrient, water conservation, and plant health products.

Responsibilities

  • You will conduct Field R&D trials and generate data to aid decision-making for future development of compounds and crop production systems.
  • Conduct field preparation, including tillage, planting and pesticide applications and harvest operations Perform general equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in the coordination of all field trial activities including planning, site preparation, application, evaluation and harvest Perform data entry and reporting via electronic data systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related field required.
  • Practical experience with farm machinery operation and maintenance required.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. 1-2 years of research experience in field crops preferred.
  • Working knowledge of crop production and pest management practices of field crops preferred.
  • Experience in small plot field research including trial establishment, backpack spraying and data collection preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of ARM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required Demonstrated excellent teamwork, self-motivation, and time management skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS Degree in Agronomy or related plant protection area such as Weed Science and 2 years of research experience in field crops preferred.
  • Working knowledge of crop production and pest management practices of field crops preferred.
  • Experience in small plot field research including trial establishment, backpack spraying and data collection preferred.
