Senior Prevailing Wage Associate
- Pay Rate: $45.47/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 4 months with possible extension and/or conversion
- Location: Houston, TX 77002 (Onsite)
- Work Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

Overview
- The Senior Prevailing Wage Associate supports payroll accuracy and compliance by administering, validating, and preparing HR and payroll-impacting data ahead of payroll execution.
- This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, improving payroll data quality, and supporting a scalable HR service delivery model.
- The associate is responsible for certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance activities, ensuring accurate data collection, validation, and reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners closely with Payroll, HR Operations, and compliance stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submissions while maintaining audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end prevailing wage and certified payroll processes.
- Collect, review, and validate payroll data for compliance.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports (e.g., WH-347 or state equivalents)
- Ensure employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and hours align with wage determinations.
- Partner with Payroll to resolve discrepancies prior to payroll close.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and records.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to certified payroll.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Escalate compliance risks, errors, or gaps with recommended solutions.
- Support process improvements and standardization within Payroll and HR Operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor junior team members
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field.
- OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in certified payroll and/or prevailing wage administration.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent preferred.
Preferred/Advanced Skills
- Experience supporting multi-state or complex prevailing wage populations.
- Background in HR Service Center, Payroll Operations, or Shared Services.
- Experience with payroll/HCM systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, UKG, ADP, Workday)
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
