Senior QA / QA Lead
- Location: Mississauga, ON – Hybrid
- Pay Rate: $67.16/hr – $78.94/hr

Responsibilities:
QA Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate QA activities across the ESD project.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, architects, business analysts, operations teams, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate testing efforts across multiple applications, integrations, and dependent teams.
- Lead defect triage meetings and drive timely issue resolution.
- Organize and maintain Jira boards, workflows, dashboards, and QA reporting processes.
- Drive accountability, ownership, and quality-focused delivery.
- Handle complex and high-pressure situations effectively and professionally.
- Mentor and guide QA team members on testing best practices and automation standards.
- Escalate risks, blockers, and quality concerns proactively.
Manual Testing & Test Case Management
- Strong hands-on experience in writing detailed test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and test strategies based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform hands-on manual testing including:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Integration Testing
- UI Testing
- API Testing
- Database Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- System Testing
- UAT Support
- Validate complex enterprise integrations and cross-application workflows.
- Identify testing gaps, edge cases, risks, and quality concerns proactively.
- Create and maintain QA documentation, execution reports, and testing metrics.
- UI Testing
- Strong experience in UI testing for web-based enterprise applications.
- Validate user workflows, user interface behavior, navigation, responsiveness, usability, and frontend integrations.
- Experience performing cross-browser and end-to-end UI validation.
- Experience creating and executing UI automation scripts using Selenium.
- Ensure frontend functionality aligns with business and technical requirements.
- API Testing
- Strong expertise in API testing using Postman and REST APIs.
- Experience validating request/response payloads, headers, authentication, status codes, and error handling.
- Experience testing JSON and XML-based services.
- Ability to perform end-to-end API validation and backend integration testing.
- Strong understanding of API automation using RestAssured.
Database Testing & SQL Validation
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database testing and SQL validation.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for backend data validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience validating data integrity, data transformation, and cross-system data consistency.
- Perform database-level validation for APIs, integrations, and enterprise workflows.
- Experience analyzing backend data issues and supporting root cause analysis activities.
Automation Framework Development & Testing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
- Lead automation strategy and implementation using:
- Selenium
- RestAssured
- TestNG
- Develop reusable automation components and utilities.
- Execute and maintain automation scripts for UI, API, regression, integration, and database testing.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure automation execution, reporting, and maintenance processes are efficient and scalable.
- Understand and manage TestNG reporting including execution status, pass/fail counts, trends, and reporting metrics.
- Review automation coverage and continuously improve framework stability and performance.
Defect Management & QA Governance
- Manage complete defect lifecycle using Jira.
- Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with teams for resolution.
- Track testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness.
- Lead defect triage and prioritization discussions.
- Ensure proper QA documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
AI & Modern QA Practices
- Support AI integration initiatives related to Jira and QA processes.
- Identify opportunities for AI-assisted testing and intelligent QA improvements.
- Contribute to modernization of QA practices and automation efficiency.

- Experience testing enterprise applications with complex integrations.
- Basic understanding of AI integration within Jira or QA processes is preferred.
