Raise is currently hiring a Business Solutions Developer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description 

The Business Solutions Developer, will be part of the Business Performance team inside the Business Solutions department, the Business Solutions Developer focuses on the technical development and engineering of solutions that enable system, data, and process automation. This role is crucial for driving operational efficiency, translating complex business requirements into robust automated workflows, and bridging the gap between technical execution and business performance.

Accountability

  • Automation & Solution Engineering: Build, implement, and deploy business process, system, and data automation initiatives. Manage the full development lifecycle from technical requirement documentation and solution design through to testing and deployment.
  • Technical Execution & Code Quality: Utilize advanced technical analysis capabilities to execute development tasks, conduct rigorous data validation, and perform thorough unit testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborative Technical Reviews: Participate actively in technical design reviews, contributing expertise to optimize solution architecture and ensure alignment with corporate IT and data governance standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a proactive partner to diverse business stakeholders, translating operational pain points into scalable technical solutions and providing exceptional customer service throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively identify opportunities to streamline data flows and reporting structures, particularly regarding upstream operational metrics.

Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive oil and gas experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, exceptional attention to detail, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet development milestones.
  • Advanced technical analysis capabilities, including solution design, data analysis, validation, unit testing.
  • Experience with upstream Land and Well applications such as WellView, Siteview, CS Land, Execute, and StackDx.
  • Advanced technical skills in the following areas:
    • Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
    • Azure application development
    • Python scripting
    • Spotfire
  • Education and Certificates
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, petroleum, business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
