Business Analyst

  • Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (Wed and Thursday and every 4th Friday of month)
  • Pay Rate: $60.35/hr – $71.21/hr
  • Contract Length: 12 Months with possibility for extension

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Execution—Plan, execute, control, and close out projects or work packages, ensuring delivery against defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis – Collaborate with business partners to gather, validate, and document business requirements, and facilitate solution design discussions with stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and change requests; generate regular updates for management.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance – Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, recommend process changes, and ensure compliance with bank’s standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Risk & Issue Management – Analyze project risks and issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and support decision-making to keep initiatives on track.
  • Support operational initiatives beyond project work.

Cross-Functional Relationships:

  • The role will require interacting with cross-functional teams (business, technology, consulting companies, third parties, and contingent workers).
  • The role will require interaction with different level of the organization to gather requirements and obtain sign-offs from the leadership teams (Senior levels to Executives)

Compliance Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • As an employee of the bank, the incumbent must comply with all applicable bank and line of business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.  

Authorities/Decision Rights:

  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in business analysis and project management (i.e., writing requirements, documentation updates, etc.), preferably within the financial services sector. – 5+ years  
  • Stakeholder management – 5 years
  • Coupa experience
  • Communication skills—able to effectively communicate detailed information in a clear, structured, impactful way.
  • Collaboration skills – able to work in a cross-functional team and ensure that all points of views are considered and understood
  • Influencing without authority – able to influence others without authority in order to meet deliverable deadlines and objectives. 
  • Organized and detail-oriented. Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Tech-savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have experience with Microsoft Project, Teams, and SharePoint.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with “Procure to pay”
  • Experience with invoicing and procurement
  • Banking experience
  • Jira and confluence
