  • Pay Rate: $37.00 – $50.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length:  1 Year
  • Location: Cold Lake, Alberta
  • Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
  • Rotation (8 days in – 6 days out, 10 hours a day)
  • Company Charter Flights provided – Departing from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta
  • Contractors are expected to travel to Calgary or Edmonton for chartered flights to camp sites.

Raise is currently hiring a Field Operator on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Field Operator in this role will be responsible for the ongoing safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the Pipeline facilities around his / her responsibility. This may include pump stations, truck pits, LACT units, storage tankage, radio towers, river crossing isolation valves, and pig traps / junctions, and  will also interface with Lloydminster Control Room personnel, Pipeline engineering staff, and Maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities            

  • This role will have a local focus on the Alberta Gathering System Terminals, Booster Stations, LACTs and the supporting Pipeline gathering systems
  • Key stakeholders that this role will partner with are all Midstream Business Units, Third Party Vendors, & various local community members
  • Ensure adherence to COIMs
  • Promote and support the HRO model
  • Follow all government and corporate Policies and Procedures
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture
  • Support Incident Investigations
  • Participate in Hazard Id, Behavioral Observation program
  • Provide as needed backfill coverage for cross shift holiday coverage
  • Support Corporate and Team annual performance goals
  • Support key initiatives and special projects as they arise
  • Support maintenance team in the Planning, Scheduling and execution of Maintenance work where required
  • Identify and report any opportunities for improvement through the MOC process
  • Trouble shooting production & Technical issues
  • Deliverables:
  • Ensure that Regulator & Compliance inspections and checks are completed and uploaded in a timely matter. Enter notifications on any Issues found.
  • Operational rounds and facility checks are completed daily.
  • Ensuring all safety tickets and CAP-O items are up to date.
  • Daily usage of SAP for inputting notifications, updating, and closing out of the work orders. Requesting PO’s to be generated.
  • Entering and managing Intelex items for any safety incident. Also, inputting audit and inspections as well plus developing the actions that come out of these items.
  • Assisting the Lloyd Control Room with any issues they have with any field location.
  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained throughout all work areas.
  • Assist and troubleshoot facility balances with the measurement group
  • Develop and execute work plans for small and big work outages. (Create the isolation, drain down, LOTO plans, and procedures).

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on field operating experience, working with pipeline infrastructures, gathering systems, booster stations, storage tankage, and LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) units.
  • Experience acting as the field-level partner to a centralized control room and experience with communicating field pressures, flows, and alarms clearly to operators sitting miles away.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft excel, work, outlook, etc.
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Proficiency with computers is required.
  • Solid understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Mechanical proficiency/ strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with supplied vehicle (experienced).
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, gathering and compression are considered an asset.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Power Engineering Certificate (4th or 3rd Class) (nice to have)
  • 2-year Petroleum Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma (nice to have)
  • Field Safety Tickets (Valid & Up-to-Date): H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada)Standard First Aid with CPR / AEDGround Disturbance Level II,TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) & WHMIS (preferred)
