· Pay Rate: $102 – $118/hour, depending on experience

· Contract Length: 6 months (possibility of extension)

· Location: (Remote, anywhere in Canada with flexible work hours)

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Our clients architecture practice provides the direction, guidance, and technical aptitude to deliver exceptional client experiences. The Solution Architect – Capital Markets is a technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and planning governance for our large corporation support tools and technological solutions as they are rolled out across the enterprise. This role bridges the gap between business needs, IT capabilities, and governance controls to ensure alignment with organizational goals. 

The Role:

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design of robust, scalable architectures including home-grown solutions, configuration and customization in vendor/partner platforms, and integration to various systems in and out of the landscape.
  • Project Support: Be a go-to resource to support the project management and product delivery teams to ensure project goals are clear, technical requirements are defined, risks are identified, and relevant parties are present.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the bridge between data and security teams, software engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Strategic Vision: Align the long term goals of the various business units, technical roadmaps, and the enterprise. Ensure these are reasoned, captured and reflected in deliverables.
  • Vendor & Tool Selection: Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms that may best serve the Capital Markets initiatives in house and in future.
  • Define the Architectural Practice: Create and exercise new and existing standards, patterns, and best practices for the architecture group to follow.
  • Prototyping: Build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate the viability of new tools and practices in the technical landscape. 

Style/Behavior:

  • Must be problem solver, self-starter, work with limited supervision, a team player and able to clearly communicate with other team members, management and user community, and effectively work with external vendors and technology partners.
  • Work with stakeholders to derive and communicate timeline expectations for deliverables.
  • Balances competing priorities while adhering to deadlines and aligning architecture to achieve value delivery.
  • Understanding of business fundamentals, including business process management, customer centricity and value creation, and business problem solving.

Desired skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in solution architecture, with preference on candidates with experience with Capital Markets and Securities projects and operations.
  • Solid working experience with Salesforce, nCino, Murex, SmartTrade, Bloomberg, Fidessa, NBIN, Morningstar, Position Watch, Blue Matrix and similar service platforms and partners.
  • Experience with API integrations, security best practices, and middleware.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of products, including Google Cloud Platform would be a benefit.
  • Systems thinking; ability to understand a solution in the broader context of our clients services delivery, long term visions, and business capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of business operations, functions, objectives and strategies in Capital Market financial services or related sectors.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds. 
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Strong consulting skills (relevant/technical); recognized as a thought leader.
  • Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and incorporate cyber security, risk, fraud and compliance requirements into designs.
