Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. 

Overview

  • The Finite Scheduler is a key member of the Plant Operations and Supply Chain team responsible for developing and managing detailed production schedules to ensure customer demand is met efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • This role analyzes inventory levels, production capacity, labor availability, material constraints, and customer requirements to create optimized finite production schedules.
  • The Finite Scheduler works cross-functionally with Supply Chain Planning, Logistics, Operations, Customer Service, Inventory Management, and Sales teams to balance customer fulfillment, operational efficiency, and inventory management while maintaining compliance with quality and controls standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze planning system outputs and develop finite production schedules for blending, drum filling, and related manufacturing activities.
  • Determine production order sequencing, start times, routings, and scheduling priorities based on asset availability, material compatibility, labor resources, and operational constraints.
  • Review, approve, and release production schedules and manufacturing orders to support customer commitments.
  • Communicate potential shortages, backorders, and production risks to Supply Chain and recommend schedule adjustments to minimize customer impact.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Operations, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and execution of production plans.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively communicate and escalate production disruptions or failures.
  • Support daily operational activities, including bulk goods issue processing and investigation of bulk product complaints.
  • Facilitate daily production meetings with operations and maintenance teams to align on priorities and execution plans.
  • Develop and manage daily railcar loading, unloading, movement, and switching plans based on inventory availability and customer demand.
  • Manage railcar inventory within the yard and rail network, identify opportunities to reduce demurrage costs, and improve rail utilization.
  • Execute tank realignment plans to improve operational efficiency and customer fulfillment performance.
  • Support supply chain initiatives, including new product launches, product discontinuations, and product reformulations.
  • Perform data analysis and reporting activities, including monthly performance scorecards and operational metrics.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning efficiency, production performance, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), Data Integrity Assurance Framework, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable quality standards and procedures.
  • Support achievement of key operational KPIs, including order fulfillment, production-to-plan performance, safety stock targets, rail demurrage reduction, planning efficiency improvements, and controls integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in Supply Chain, Production Scheduling, Manufacturing Operations, Operations Integrity, or a related environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely and effective decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including data analysis, reporting, charting, and data validation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, including Materials Management (MM) and Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, or logistics coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of railcar operations, transportation planning, and demurrage management.
