Supply Chain Professional (Level 1)
- Pay Rate: $48.48/hour depending on experience
- Contract Length: 2 Years
- Location: Surrey, British Columbia (Hybrid – Minimum 2 days onsite)
Raise is currently hiring a Supply Chain Professional (Level 1) on behalf of our client. They're expanding their Supply Chain team to support strategic sourcing, procurement, and materials management initiatives, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to contribute to high-impact public procurement projects in a collaborative enterprise environment. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Supply Chain Professional (Level 1) is responsible for supporting sourcing and procurement activities for the Materials Management Business Unit, with a focus on increasing the use of strategic long-term agreements and improving procurement automation. This role manages medium-value, low-to-medium complexity sourcing initiatives while ensuring compliance with procurement policies, public procurement legislation, and organizational standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, execute competitive procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Provide sourcing and procurement support for Materials Management operations.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with organizational procurement objectives.
- Recommend procurement models and determine appropriate sourcing methods.
- Prepare and manage procurement documents including RFTs, RFPs, RFQs, RFSQs, RFIs, and RFEIs.
- Develop Supply Chain Strategies and Contracting Plans for assigned procurement initiatives.
Procurement Management
- Manage procurement activities from strategy development through contract award.
- Coordinate evaluation processes and support supplier negotiations.
- Assist with contract awards, amendments, extensions, and supplier performance activities.
- Identify sourcing risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with public procurement legislation and organizational policies.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams.
- Provide procurement guidance to operational and project teams.
- Support supplier relationship management initiatives and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Prepare procurement status reports and communicate project updates to management.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of procurement automation and process improvements.
- Participate in sourcing strategy development and category management initiatives.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in procurement governance and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of procurement, sourcing, category management, or equivalent experience in a complex organizational environment.
- Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and competitive procurement processes.
- Strong understanding of public procurement principles, contract law, and competitive bid legislation.
- Experience preparing procurement documents including RFPs, RFQs, RFTs, RFIs, and related solicitation documents.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement risk.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Provincial Government or Crown Corporation sourcing experience.
- Experience purchasing inventory using SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience with BC Bid and public-sector procurement processes.
- Knowledge of contract law and public procurement legislation.
- Experience supporting infrastructure or capital project sourcing.
- Experience interacting with First Nations communities is considered an asset.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Project Management education or certification is considered an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional education or certifications in Supply Chain Management or Project Management are considered assets.
Additional Information
- Hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of two days per week onsite in Surrey, British Columbia.
- Occasional travel to other office locations may be required based on business needs.
- Standard work schedule of 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day.
