Raise is currently hiring a Business Analyst, IS Resiliency Office (CWC) on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Business Analyst in this role will be part of the IS Resiliency Office and support the organization's Disaster Recovery (DR), Minimum Viable Company (MVC), and operational resilience programs. This role will work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, Cyber Security, Architecture, Enterprise Risk, and other corporate functions to enhance recovery readiness, coordinate testing activities, improve reporting and governance practices, and strengthen the organization's overall resiliency posture. The successful candidate will help drive recovery planning, resiliency testing, vulnerability remediation coordination, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across critical technology and business services.
Success Measures
Within the assignment, the successful candidate will:
- Successfully coordinate and drive scheduled DR testing activities.
- Improve visibility into resiliency performance through meaningful KPI reporting and dashboards.
- Support the completion of application criticality assessments and recovery planning activities.
- Enhance the quality and consistency of recovery documentation and operational procedures.
- Improve visibility and coordination of vulnerability remediation and resilience-related risks.
- Build strong working relationships across technology and business teams while helping mature the organization's resilience capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Support the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of resiliency initiatives across the enterprise, including:
- Disaster Recovery Governance & Program Coordination
- Coordinate annual Disaster Recovery testing activities across technology and business teams.
- Support development and execution of testing schedules, readiness reviews, post-test analysis, and remediation tracking.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements related to resiliency planning and testing.
- Maintain governance artifacts, action registers, issue logs, and program reporting.
- Recovery Planning & Assessment
- Facilitate application criticality assessments and recovery requirement reviews with application owners and business stakeholders.
- Support development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans, recovery playbooks, and recovery procedures.
- Conducting Business Impact Assessments for new and existing assets to ensure RTO, RPO, and Dependency Mapping requirements are tracked.
- Assist in identifying dependencies, recovery risks, and resilience gaps affecting critical business services.
- Support Minimum Viable Company (MVC) planning and resilience improvement initiatives.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to measure resiliency performance.
- Produce KPI, KRI, and executive reporting for leadership and governance forums.
- Analyze resiliency data and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and operational insights.
- Support preparation of presentation materials, scorecards, and executive updates.
- Vulnerability & Risk Management Support
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation tracking and reporting activities across technology teams.
- Support risk identification, issue management, and remediation follow-up activities.
- Assist in maintaining resiliency metrics and compliance evidence supporting internal and external audit activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and improve resiliency processes.
- Support process documentation, workflow mapping, and procedure development.
- Identify opportunities to enhance resiliency capabilities, governance processes, and reporting effectiveness.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Program Analyst, Governance Analyst, or related role.
- Experience facilitating workshops and working with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Strong understanding of business processes, risk management, and governance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, or Risk Management programs.
- Knowledge of DR concepts including RTO, RPO, recovery planning, resiliency testing, and application criticality assessments.
- Experience creating process maps, workflow diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Experience working with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and modern infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory initiatives.
- Energy industry experience is considered an asset for this role
- Education and Certifications
- Certifications (One or more preferred)
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
- CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional)
- ITIL Foundation
- PMP or CAPM
- Risk Management or Cyber Security related certifications
