Senior Construction Site Lead

  • Pay Rate: $90 – $100/hour (on W2)
  • Contract Length: 15 months
  • Location: Hopkinsville, KY 42240

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Construction Site Lead to support its Advanced Graphite Materials business, a new market-entry venture building out battery anode graphite material capability in the United States. This is a new position created for team expansion, based at an established company manufacturing site in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The Senior Construction Site Lead will run day-to-day field construction operations, engage early with the engineering contractor, and help shape the project's execution from early planning through delivery. This is a highly visible role on a project still taking shape, offering the chance to help define how construction is executed on site rather than stepping into an established process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site safety, championing client's Site Leadership Expectations and safe work practices among contractors and the project team.
  • Lead the company site team through fabrication, construction, and hookup activities in line with project objectives, priorities, and contract specifications.
  • Interface daily with the engineering contractor, general contractor, and subcontractors from early planning through construction completion.
  • Monitor and appraise contractor performance, identify corrective actions where deficiencies arise, and verify they are implemented.
  • Coordinate site interfaces between contractors and Production Operations, Drilling, and other ongoing projects as applicable.
  • Support development of construction planning deliverables and provide input on contractor plans and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain the site's verification process for mechanical completion.
  • Ensure an appropriate materials management system is implemented and functioning at site.
  • Coordinate resolution of construction related issues with guidance from the Construction Site Manager or Project Manager, reporting progress and challenges regularly.
  • Ensure contract execution and change requests comply with contract specifications and the Management of Change process.
  • Participate in lessons learned reviews and contribute to project close out reporting.
  • Balance schedule and cost pressure against safety and quality standards, particularly in early execution phases where shortcuts carry long term risk.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience leading construction execution on major capital projects valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Site Lead, Superintendent, or equivalent on a major capital project.
  • Background in both modular and stick built construction methods.
  • General mechanical construction experience, including steel pipe equipment and solids handling systems.
  • Experience in field construction planning, execution, and completions within an industrial environment.
  • Experience working within the company or a similar large scale industrial capital project culture.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse, multi-location teams, including remote engineering counterparts.
  • Strong computer and digital tool proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel domestically to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with travel frequency increasing as construction progresses, plus occasional international travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field; significant relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree.
