Data / Analytics Engineer (Build)

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SQL, data engineering, and advanced data platform technologies, with experience in Databricks and Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Construct and maintain the platform foundation and semantic layer based on analysts' specifications.
- Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines using advanced SQL and data engineering methodologies.
- Harness Databricks capabilities, including Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, notebooks, and jobs for standardization.
- Utilize Snowflake tools, including SQL, data warehouses, roles, and ideally semantic views/models.
- Design and implement data models, focusing on dimensional modeling and SCD Type 2 history.
- Enable cross-platform data federation between Databricks and Snowflake.
- Develop Python pipelines and manage version control, testing, and continuous integration using Git/DevOps practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong SQL + data engineering (ELT/ETL pipeline development)
- Databricks — Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, notebooks/jobs (standardization layer)
- Snowflake — SQL, warehouses/roles, and ideally semantic views / semantic models
- Data modeling — dimensional modeling, SCD Type 2 history, marts
- Cross-platform data federation (Databricks ↔ Snowflake)
- Python for pipelines; Git/DevOps version control, testing/CI
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Snowflake Cortex / AI features and semantic-view definitions
- Healthcare RCM domain
- Transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), performance tuning, data-platform ingestion frameworks
Key Deliverables
- Develop comprehensive ingestion processes to the data platform.
- Implement data landing and SCD Type 2 solutions.
- Standardize data using Databricks and manage pseudo/metric marts.
- Ensure Snowflake federation and develop semantic views for Executive Intelligence data assets.
- Enable Cortex features and optimization.
