Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Terraform Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure hosted in a disconnected Azure environment. This role is primarily focused on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure engineering, automation, platform reliability, and enterprise application support. The successful candidate will upgrade and enhance an existing Terraform codebase supporting a large-scale enterprise platform environment. This individual will be responsible for improving automation, standardizing deployments, strengthening security controls, supporting platform upgrades, and optimizing Azure infrastructure. Experience supporting GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Enterprise is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Upgrade, troubleshoot, and enhance an enterprise Terraform codebase supporting a large Azure environment.
- Develop, maintain, and improve reusable Terraform modules and deployment standards.
- Manage Terraform state, infrastructure drift remediation, code reviews, pull requests, and deployment workflows.
- Deploy and support infrastructure in a disconnected Azure environment.
- Provision and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, load balancers, and security services.
- Support GitHub-based Infrastructure as Code deployment pipelines and automated provisioning processes.
- Implement and maintain RBAC, governance controls, and cloud security best practices.
- Support platform modernization initiatives and lifecycle management activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, database, and application teams.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions.
- Support disaster recovery, high-availability configurations, and Azure cost optimization initiatives.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours implementation activities with advance notice.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Terraform experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience maintaining and upgrading Terraform codebases.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and configuration management practices.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services including: Azure networking, Azure VMs, Storage Accounts, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Identity and Access Management, RBAC, Disaster Recovery, and Azure governance
- Experience with GitHub, pull requests, code merges, and version control workflows.
- Experience supporting CI/CD and automated infrastructure deployment pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Azure infrastructure within regulated or disconnected network environments.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Experience supporting enterprise GIS or ArcGIS Enterprise platforms.
- Experience supporting large SQL Server environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
- Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
