Job Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced accounting professional to join their GDS Affiliates finance team. This role involves performing complex accounting tasks, conducting accounting research analysis, and preparing or reviewing reporting schedules to support quarterly and annual external financial filings and management reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting and accounting research analysis for the GDS Affiliates finance team.
- Prepare and review reporting schedules to support quarterly and annual external financial filings and management reporting processes.
- Assist with complex accounting and accounting research, liaising with various groups enterprise-wide to resolve and communicate resolutions.
- Identify, resolve, and escalate potential accounting issues to ensure timely resolution and accurate financial information in external filings.
- Review contracts prior to execution, assessing accounting implications.
- Assist with month and quarter-end close processes as needed.
- Synthesize complex accounting issues and explain their impacts to management.
- Identify and lead implementation of process improvements.
- Provide ongoing support for ad hoc requests and special projects.
- Ensure controls and processes are properly maintained and SOX compliance is achieved.
- Ensure affiliate cost recovery process is adhered to and ARC compliance is achieved.
- Provide oversight and support for GDS affiliate operating and capital budgets/forecasts.
- Maintain a working knowledge of US GAAP.
Qualifications
Required:
- University degree in a business or accounting program.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) with 4+ years of directly related experience.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the ability to present to senior management.
- Proven interpersonal skills in dealing with and obtaining cooperation from others.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Willingness to work under pressure and some overtime to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion Smartview.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience in a Public Practice Accounting role.
- Experience in Technical Accounting/Accounting Research role.
- Experience in External Financial Reporting role.
