We’re Raise, and we’ve joined forces with our client Accerta Services Inc., who are looking to hire a full-time, permanent Compliance Manager.
They are a B Corp-certified social enterprise enabling healthcare equality for all. As a social enterprise, they manage dental, vision, drug, and healthcare benefits programs exclusively for government and social services agencies in Canada. Their targeted experience and innovative technology provide cost savings, reliable service, process continuity, and accurate, insightful data that enables governments to make informed strategic decisions, reducing stress on the healthcare system through streamlined administration.
As the new Compliance Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the regulatory requirements and compliance with vendor contracts and related service-level agreements. This role will ensure the company adheres to all federal and provincial laws, providing leadership in creating a compliance framework, mitigating risk, maintaining compliance, preparing required documentation, and updating internal processes to meet the latest regulatory changes and industry best practices.
The best candidate for this role will be highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring that all tasks, particularly in claims processing, are completed with precision and efficiency. They should be adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity, thriving in dynamic environments where change is constant. A proactive approach is essential, as is the ability to spot gaps and identify opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate will ideally have a knack for automating processes within systems and tools and streamlining operations to enhance productivity and effectiveness. Experience working with regulatory requirements and compliance for provincial and federal government bodies is also key, as it offers valuable insights and an understanding of the necessary regulations and procedures. This expertise ensures that all processes align with governmental standards.
Accountabilities:
- Leading the development, execution, and oversight of an effective Compliance Framework, Monitoring, and Testing program.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive system for managing compliance documentation, ensuring all required filings, reports, and renewals are completed accurately and on time.
- Leading internal compliance audits and risk assessments, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Assessing and analyzing the regulatory and legislative environment to identify emerging issues and upcoming changes.
- Developing and implementing plans to correct instances where non-compliance is occurring in collaboration with the operations team.
- Managing compliance to vendors contract and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Partner with leaders to monitor and uphold compliance with vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring high standards of service and performance are consistently met.
Details
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a hybrid work model that blends remote work with planned in-office days. You will be required to visit the Toronto office a couple of times a month. Schedules will be determined in partnership between individuals, managers, and the team. While enjoying the flexibility of working from home. the work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $109,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package and a Defined Benefit Pension Plan starting from your first day. Other perks include vacation time, a performance-based bonus, and a one-time home office allowance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of regulatory compliance or compliance risk role experience.
- Experience and familiarity with claims processing, ensuring efficient and accurate management of claims that align with industry standards.
- Experience in performing risk assessments, gap analysis and monitoring remediation projects
- Experience in performing quality reviews, internal controls testing and compliance testing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions.
- Ability to work with certain levels of ambiguity and work autonomously with minimal guidance
- Experience in change management and/or the establishment and implementation of new processes and procedures.
- Project Management skills is an asset.
