SUMMARY

  • The Financial Management Branch (FMB) supports all branches in both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long-Term Care with their financial analysis and management, planning, and forecasting for Transfer Payments, Direct Operating Expenses (DOE) and Other Direct Operating Expenses (ODOE). The Branch is responsible for the reporting and controllership requirements of both ministries, and it conducts the in-year and year-end expenditure management, including monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting. The Branch also processes and coordinates Health Service Provider (HSP) payments, reporting, reconciliations, and settlements for the ministry-managed programs and Ontario Health (OH). The Branch also provides financial services that support the successful implementation of programs and initiatives that contribute to the operation of Ontario’s healthcare system while supporting both ministries’ ability to balance the budget.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent alpha/numeric data entry skills to input and verify data from source documents
  • Ability to complete data entry in an accurate and timely manner, review source documents for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Aptitude and ability to follow established procedures and instruction
  • Organizational skills to ensure documents do not go missing
  • Priority setting skills to determine which documents must be processed first
  • Ability to properly execute tasks in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member in order to provide efficient and effective data entry operations.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with team members and for information sharing.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
