Diesel Mechanic

  • Contract Length: 12 months with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
  • Location: Midland, TX 79706 (Onsite)
  • Work Hours: 12-hour Shift | 15 days on and 6 days off
  • Travel: If you are required to work in an oilfield basin away from your “home” location, you will be reimbursed (150 miles each way once Light vehicle training is completed)
  • Accommodations: While on rotation to a basin, you will be housed in a “man camp” and meal costs will be covered.
  • Additional Information: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required

Overview

  • Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands.
  • Improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Division's assets within the Maintenance Base (MB) and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
  • Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
  • Comply with Division TLM standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts and return authorization numbers, failures and work-in-process.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Implement CoSD projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
  • Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
  • Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in tractor and trailer maintenance required.
  • Preferred 2 years of oil & gas industry experience.
  • Working on Cement pumps, Peterbilt tractors, Air Slide, and Bulk trailers.
  • Should be familiar with CAT ET, Cummins Insight, Davie Software, Service Ranger software, HVAC preferred.
  • Diesel Maintenance certification preferred.

Top 3 Skills

  • Conducting preventive maintenance on various types of trailers and tractors.
  • Diagnosing electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical deficiencies using diagnostic tools.
  • Conducting road calls in a provided facility vehicle.
