Electrical Engineer (EIT)- Material Request and Stations Design

  • Pay Rate: $69.69/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 16 months 
  • Location: Burnaby, British Columbia 

Raise is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer (EIT) – Material Request and Stations Design on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Description 

The Engineer, Material Request and Stations Design (Electrical E.I.T.) for this role will be in an entry-level position performing supervised electrical engineering tasks of limited scope and complexity. This role applies standard engineering procedures and techniques to support projects and operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, with quality, within budget, and on time. The incumbent will focus specifically on Stations Design and related Material Request processes within the organization’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Under the close supervision of a senior professional engineer (P.Eng.), the E2 Engineer will primarily focus on Stations Design and Material Request support by:
    • Engineering Analysis: Contributing to the development of safe engineering solutions by performing studies of limited scope and applying prescribed methods and techniques in problem-solving for projects and/or operations.
    • Design Support: Assisting with specific aspects of more complex stations design activities, adhering to prescribed analysis, design, or computation methods, and following established practices.
    • Material Management: Executing or assisting with the process of generating material requests for station projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with 's standards.
    • Quality Control: Performing periodic tasks independently, which may include on-site construction quality control and monitoring to ensure design compliance and adherence to specifications.
    • Standards Compliance: Utilizing initiative and judgment in making routine technical decisions, applying 's engineering standards, and following detailed instructions to maintain the integrity of engineering practices.
    • Professional Practice: Working in accordance with ’s Professional Practice Management Plan and the Quality Management Pillar. The Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) will work under the supervision and mentorship of a P.Eng.

Qualifications

  • (2) years of experience in a relevant engineering field with experience as an Electrical, EIT.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
  • Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software.
  • Valid Class 5 license
  • Nice to have:
    • Previous experience using SAP
    • Previous experience using inventor
    • Previous Co-op experience
    • Previous experience with transmission substation design
  • Education and Skills 
    • University graduate in Electrical Applied Science or Engineering.
    • Registered Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.)and will be required to Provide Proof of Permit to Practice, registered with EGBC when hired

Additional Information 

  • Candidates in this role will be working a hybrid schedule of at least 2 days a week in the office 
  • Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
  • Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
