Electrical Technician
- Pay Rate: $37.50/hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring an Electrical Technician on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable maintenance and operation of electrical equipment and systems at the Grande Prairie Compression facility. This role requires a skilled, certified electrician capable of performing routine and complex maintenance, responding to emergencies, and ensuring all work complies with the organizations Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) policies and applicable legislation. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision and be an active participant in project oversight and emergency response. Field work will be required.
Responsibilities
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
- System Operations & Data Management:
- Independently access, enter, and locate data using computerized systems such as Klova, GeoFind, and EDMS.
- Utilize and maintain engineering prints and schematics with minimal direction.
- Operate and maintain specialized electrical test equipment.
- Maintenance & Compliance:
- Perform routine electrical and related pipeline maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all work tasks and duties strictly comply with HS&E policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Project and Contractor Oversight:
- Oversee project activities, providing active control duties and coordination for contracted personnel.
- Safety & Preparedness:
- Understand and adhere to emergency management procedures (preparedness and response) for the work location.
Qualifications
- 5–9 years of relevant, progressive experience as a certified tradesperson, preferably within the oil and gas, pipeline, or industrial compression environment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment (e.g., motors, motor control centers, switchgear, generators, protective relays).
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently utilize and maintain electrical prints and technical documents.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining various electrical test and measurement equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of computerized systems such as Klova, GeoFind, and EDMS for data management and retrieval.
- Valid Drivers license
- Education and Skills
- Red Seal Certification Electrician Ticket
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and management during routine operations and emergency situations.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage routine maintenance schedules and project oversight duties.
- Solid understanding of emergency response protocols and the ability to act decisively under pressure.
