IT Business Analyst – Tech Advisor
- Pay Rate: $68-$72/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Location: Houston, TX 77079 (Locals Only – Hybrid)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- The Tech Advisor plays a critical role within the IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) group, serving as a technical liaison between IT and business units.
- This position supports strategic technology planning, citizen development, and risk management while enabling business users to leverage modern tools and platforms.
- The Tech Advisor collaborates closely with Customer Engagement Specialists and internal IT teams to ensure seamless delivery of technology solutions aligned with business needs.
Responsibilities
- Technology Awareness & Advisory
- Stay informed on emerging industry technologies and trends.
- Provide recommendations on technology adoption and innovation opportunities.
- Power Platform Enablement
- Develop and support solutions using PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot.
- Promote best practices and governance for Power Platform usage.
- Citizen Development Support
- Mentor and guide business users in building low-code/no-code applications.
- Conduct workshops and provide documentation to empower citizen developers.
- Risk Assessment & Disaster Recovery
- Facilitate risk assessments with business units for new and existing applications.
- Support disaster recovery planning and ensure alignment with IT continuity protocols.
- Database & Technical Planning
- Apply foundational database knowledge to support solution design and evaluation.
- Assist in technical estimates and planning for business initiatives.
- IT Coordination & Ticket Resolution
- Coordinate with internal IT groups to resolve technical issues and service requests.
- Track and follow up on IT tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Business Engagement
- Work directly with business users to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with Customer Engagement Specialists to support business initiatives and technology roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform: PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Copilot.
- Strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling.
- Familiarity with IT service management and ticketing systems.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT advisory, application development, or business analysis.
- Experience in a BRM or cross-functional IT/business role.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and digital transformation practices.
