Pay Rate: $18.00 – $28.00/hour on W2, depending on experience

Work Location: Onsite – Shreveport, LA 71129

Work Schedule: Night shift & Weekend Shift

Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension

Additional Information: Standard Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.

Job Summary:

The Plant Services (Facility) Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on machinery, equipment, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, as well as physical structures. This role involves the use of both hand and power tools to ensure operational efficiency and safety. The technician reports directly to the Plant Services Lead.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of maintenance principles, concepts, and procedures.
  • Performs minor maintenance repairs independently.
  • Identifies and distinguishes between electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and repairs.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and recommends appropriate repairs.
  • Makes preventative maintenance recommendations based on observations.
  • Reads and interprets schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools proficiently.
  • Performs monthly inspections and maintains facility equipment.
  • Moves furniture, installs signage, and performs general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains departmental vehicles and ensures grounds are clean and orderly.
  • Familiar with computer systems used to access work documents and vendor technical information.
  • Learns and adheres to quality and documentation requirements; consistently performs high-quality work.
  • Reads and interprets safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions; completes routine reports accurately.
  • Apply basic math concepts to support maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of safety policies and procedures.
  • Observes safety regulations and uses proper PPE as required.
  • Identifies and reports hazards; takes corrective action when possible.
  • Comply with all company policies and maintain confidentiality of company data, technology, and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional groups.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and applies LEAN principles.
  • Provides informal guidance and support for new team members.
  • Assists with setting up for company functions and events.
  • Familiar with facility layout and overall operations.
  • Contractor coordination as needed (e.g., groundskeeping).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One-year technical school or college certificate preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance-related field or skilled trades.
  • Preferred experience in vehicle maintenance, basic lighting, and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure documents.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
