Machine Operator – 1st Shift

  • Pay Rate: $17/hour on W2
  • Contract Length: 3 months with a possibility of extension 
  • Location: Montgomeryville, PA 18936 (Onsite)
  • Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM (4/40 schedule, 40 hours/week)

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Overview

  • The Machine Operator (1st Shift) will operate production machinery, monitor quality and performance, perform basic maintenance, and support the production team to meet plant and safety goals

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery while ensuring quality output and optimal performance.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments using hand tools and company-provided supplies.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry per ISO and department standards.
  • Review job jackets and proofs to confirm customer specifications (materials, finish, stamping process, etc.).
  • Report any quality, production, or maintenance issues to the Production Lead or Process Team Coach.
  • Identify and correct machinery operation issues; seek assistance when needed.
  • Communicate shift handover information regarding job and machine status.
  • Perform routine operator maintenance.
  • Set up and operate specialized finishing equipment per job requirements.
  • Support the 5S continuous improvement program and participate in audits and improvement tasks.
  • Update the production floor supervision system to reflect machine status changes.
  • Provide coverage for other operators during breaks and assist other departments when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write English (required for security and safety).
  • Basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and calipers.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with manual labor and moderate noise exposure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience operating production machinery.

Physical Demands

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise (below 85 dB).
  • Safety shoes and additional PPE (e.g., safety glasses) required per local policy.
  • Ability to distinguish colors across the full color spectrum.
  • Repetitive motion and excellent hand-eye coordination required.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
