What you will be doing:
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, and you will play a crucial role in design, analysis and qualification of structures, systems and components for various client’s projects.
Practically speaking, you will:
· Provide technical support for OPG projects.
· Provide technical oversight on OPG ECC process of engineering deliverables.
· Performs standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
· Complete field visits to support engineering work development.
· Liaise with clients to ensure solutions identified meet underlying needs.
· Complete engineering deliverables to support plant lifetime operations including design, construction, testing, commissioning, plant operations, and maintenance.
· Support Engineering leadership as directed for special projects.
What you will bring:
· 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· Professional Engineering License (P. Eng)
· 10+ year of engineering experience is preferable
· Must have at least 5 years of engineering experience preferable in the nuclear industry:
-  Preference given to Candidates with System / Filtration experience
-  Bruce Power security clearance – Site Access Clearance is a must
-  Preference given to candidates holding current Orange Badge
Assigned Design Engineer (ADE) qualification is preferred:
-  Must have current / active qualification with BP.
-  Will consider candidates with past OE ( Owner’s Engineer ) qualifications.
· Experience in system engineering and design review processes.
· Experience in manufacturing and constructability methods.
· Ability to support design and constructability review meetings.
· Working knowledge and understanding of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC.
· Familiarity with CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20.
· Familiarity with engineering software tools, such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, MicroShield.
· Ability to prepare and/or provide critical peer review of various engineering calculations and reports.
· Detailed oriented, having the ability to professionally debate, reason and to demonstrate technical capability in relations to colleagues, supervisors and customer.
· Ability of work well with senior engineers and other disciplines. Ability to respond rapidly to changing demands. Ability and willingness to self-reflect and course correct during various design stages preparation, to overcome barriers and meet project quality and deadlines
