Occupational Health Nurse

  • Pay Rate: $50-$57/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 12 months
  • Location: Edmonton, AB T6P 0E5
  • Work Schedule: 3 days per week – 3 days on/4 days off

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Overview

  • Imperial Occupational Health services are fully integrated to provide occupational health surveillance, disability case management, and workers’ compensation coordination.
  • The nurse provides support for the delivery of Imperial’s Occupational Health programs and services to various business units.

Responsibilities

  • Provides services within the professional scope and standards of license specific to health care of employees and other workers.
  • Determines employees’ fitness-for-work through clinical and evidence-based assessments. This includes assisting with completion of occupational evaluations.
  • Collects data about the health status of the employee through an occupational health history, physical assessment, and appropriate clinical screening.
  • Assesses clinical tests and results, arranges follow up assessment, refers for further investigation, and communicates the results, as required.
  • Records health data and maintains accurate employee health records. Complies with data privacy requirements.
  • Provides advice to employees on prevention of illness and injury, health and wellness, and community health services.
  • Provides emergency treatment for injury and illness, both occupational and non-occupational.

Qualifications

  • Nursing Degree
  • In good standing with the provincial licensing organization of the primary work location.
  • At least 3-5 years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Certification in occupational health (COHN(C)) is preferred.
  • Audiometry and spirometry certification is preferred.
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Advanced First Aid (AFA) is required.
  • Completion of physical health assessment course may be required.
  • Emergency response experience.
  • Experience with Medgate.
  • Availability to work weekends & weekday shifts, as well as possible evening/night shifts during turnarounds.
