Position – Payroll & Accounts Payable Manager

  • Pay Rate: $95K – $113K Base USD Yearly
  • Location: Edmonds, WA

 

Raise is currently hiring a permanent, full-time team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING . . .

  • Supervises daily activities of Accounts Payable and Payroll departments
  • Responsible for Payroll/HRIS and related taxes & union benefits:
    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, tax withholding, and 401(k) deferrals.
    • Collaborates with PSS in processing payroll updates.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, union contracts and best practices.
    • Balances payroll with the General Ledger.
    • Ensures compliance with Union and Internal pay structures.
    • Manages all information reporting to appropriate union organizations.
    • Assists with month-end and year-end close.
  • Oversees Accounts Payable function of company
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable function of company:
    • Ensures timely & accurate processing and payment of all company vendors.
    • Ensures effective internal controls over vendor addition/maintenance, invoice processing, and all payment methodologies.
  • Manages Expense Report & Company credit card programs.
  • Oversees company-wide timekeeping system (UKG WFM):
    • Ensures the system is up to date, configured appropriately and working properly.
    • Collaborates with PSS and Operations to develop and provide training for proper usage of systems and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of timekeeping, payroll, and accounts payable transactions
  • Supervisory responsibilities include:
    • Hires, trains, motivates and evaluates Payroll and Accounts Payable staff.
    • Oversees the daily workflow of Payroll and Accounts Payable departments.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Develops and facilitates training within areas of responsibility as needed.
  • Maintains department in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
  • Provides excellent guest service
  • Stays current with industry trends, standards and changes
  • Stays current with all training including online training and professional development opportunities
  • Ensures the dissemination of and adherence to all company and department policies
  • Provides and demonstrates attitude of service to staff and customers
  • Operates within the Company’s Core Values, Company Brand and Business Principles

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF . . .

  • Associate degree in accounting or Payroll/ Accounts Payable certification required
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership position within Payroll and/or Accounts Payable
  • Previous experience managing union payroll and/or accounts payable department for medium size retail business
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, payroll taxes, and qualified benefit laws required
  • Extensive experience overseeing & maintaining GP Dynamics, UKG WFM and ADP Lyric highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • High integrity in handling confidential information and working with diverse cultures
  • Proficient in MS Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail required
  • Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must have demonstrated strong leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
