Procurement Advisor
- Pay Rate: $50.12/hour, depending on experience
- Contract Length: 1 Year
- Location: Burnaby, British Columbia
Raise is currently hiring a Procurement Advisor on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Supply Chain Professional in this role is accountable for delivering assigned outcomes related to the development and execution of project/project supply chain strategies, sourcing strategies and/or sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and plan the implementation of sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
- Implement sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of sourcing processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
- Lead and/or support projects/programs that may include developing and conducting competitive sourcing events (eg. RFPs, RFSQ, RFT, etc.). May include developing and conducting multi-stage RFx's.
- Sourcing activities may also include First Nations directed procurement, province wide and global initiatives, and working with other utilities on joint initiatives (eg. Telus, Fortis).
- Preparing approval document and negotiation strategy prior to initiating negotiations. Leading negotiations through to awarding of contract(s).
- Implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
- Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships between ’s supply chain organization and business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through activities such as timely communication, resolution of issues, and relevant reporting.
- Analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert by advising on sourcing best practices, approaches, and standards to enhance current operational efficiency and future capability.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of sourcing, category management, or equivalent experience, preferably in a complex environment
- Experience in categories or infrastructure capital project sourcing
- Expertise in leading full-cycle competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFSQ, etc.), including preparation of approval documents, negotiation strategy, and final contract award
- Strong functional knowledge of public sector procurement law and experience navigating complex procurement standards within a large utility or similar regulated environment
- Proficiency in large-scale ERP systems ( such as SAP)
- Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent.
- Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management ( nice to have)
- Certificate or additional education in Project Management (nice to have)
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Advanced English skills for professional environment (written and spoken).
Additional Information
- Candidates in this role will be working a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days in the office per work or as required
