Who you are:

 

You are an experienced Project Manager with expert knowledge in building and designing projects in a timely completion, adherence to budget and satisfaction to all contractual obligations. You demonstrate working knowledge and engineering experience that you can contribute to the following areas:  HVAC, plumbing, mechanical service, mechanical systems, design build, Building Information Modeling (BIM), prefabrication, mechanical contractor, process piping, mechanical design, and integrated project design.

What you’ll be doing

 

As the Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Construction Manager and will be responsible for controlling labor, cost (entire project) and quality of the construction projects. Plan and assist in the coordination of the construction process, collaborating with the owner, general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors.

 

Practically speaking you will:

 

·      Manage project deadlines, milestones and coordination from start to finish

·      Provide timely resolution of issues as they arise

·      Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources

·      Select and coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project

·      Oversee performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings

·      Actively participate in the coordination planning of materials, labor and deadlines

·      Be responsible for proper administration of construction contracts

·      Track and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated

·      Assist in risk management assessments and strategies

·      Identify areas for development, training or coaching in coordination with the project manager, foreman and/or safety officer

·      Conduct annual performance evaluations of direct reports

·      Oversee safety initiatives in accordance with company strategy, Cal/OSHA and local compliance agencies in coordination with the company safety officer and human resources representative

·      Be responsible for maintaining, tracking and forecasting gross margins

·      Prepare RFIs, change orders, and submittals

·      Create budget structure along with detailed description per cost code

·      Create schedule of values and monthly billings on a timely manner

·      Weekly visit job site

·      Mitigate financial impact of unforeseen conditions of a project

·      Conduct regular site visits and provide ongoing support to project teams

·      Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success

What you will bring:

 

·      Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years of equivalent experience

·      Experience in the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) construction industry

·      Project management experience of managing construction project budget of $1-5 millions

·      Strong understanding of construction processes and procedures

·      Proficiency in reading and interpreting design plans and schematics

·      Excellent communication and organizational skills

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

·      Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations within the construction industry

·      Experience with Procore, BlueBeam, Timberline

·      Strong competency in writing business letters, quotations and proposals

·      Knowledge of trade (Sheet metal / Mechanical Piping Systems)

This job has supervisory responsibility of the Construction department
