Test Technician
Pay Rate: $27.00 – $30.00/hour Depending on Experience
Work Location: Onsite – Mobile, AL 36605
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 12 hours | Weekends as needed
Duration: 12-contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Details: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Raise is currently hiring a Test Technician on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Job Overview:
The F.A.T. Technician performs factory authorized (FAT) or verification testing and related tasks for the completion of OSS Umbilicals & Products.
The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion for quality. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our product delivery to the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Fiber Optic Testing & Splicing (Outside Plant Certified)
- Perform Low Voltage (1000V) Cable Testing & Medium Voltage (6000V+) Cable Testing Conductor Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Crosstalk/Attenuation, Impedance, Resistance, and High Potential Testing.
- Measure resistance, continuity, voltage using test equipment.
- Perform & Assist in Hydrostatic Pressure Testing of SDSS Umbilicals & DE Products (10,000-30,000psi).
- Set up specialized equipment, perform leak checks by using appropriate equipment and procedures, and verify check completion.
- Operation and Basic Maintenance of High-Pressure Water Jet & Hydratron Pumps.
- Record all pertinent data, ensure correct digital recording methods are used.
- Setup digital recording of pressure tests (CompactRIO, NI Equipment, Pressure Transducers, etc).
- Interpret test data (plots, graphs, tabulated parameters) to choose pass/fail condition and resolve when further analysis is needed.
- Identify and document Non-Conformance Records (NCRs) and coordinate improvements, escalate as needed.
- Understand, report, and review tool status.
- Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, adhering to safety guidelines, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and following Lockout Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures.
- Provide timely clear communication to appropriate stakeholders including production status, tasks completed, detailed descriptions, continuous improvement ideas, and shift pass downs.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all working areas maintaining that area to the highest degree of cleanliness required for assembly operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Previous relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot product and test equipment.
- Knowledgeable about pumps and manifolds.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics (electrical/fiber optic/hydraulic).
- Knowledgeable about fittings, pressure ratings and proper engagement.
