CNC Machinist
· Pay rate up to $43.48/hr
· Location: St Thomas, ON – Onsite
· Hours: 40 hrs a week
· Full-time, permanent position
· Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Raise Workforce has partnered with a manufacturing company that focuses on delivering innovative water solutions to the building and home improvement markets in Canada. Are you a skilled CNC Machinist looking for an exciting opportunity in St Thomas, ON to join their team? You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, setup, programming, and troubleshooting of machining equipment to meet production requirements. Your role will ensure product quality and production rates are met while maintaining a safe work environment.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
· Lead and train CNC operators in setup, troubleshooting, and fault correction.
· Program and edit CNC equipment with various controllers.
· Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues.
· Maintain proper production documentation.
· Follow setup instructions and procedures (layouts).
· Read and interpret production blueprints.
· Use appropriate gauging to meet quality standards.
· Report quality and tooling issues.
· Perform equipment repairs as needed.
· Ensure optimal cycle times.
· Participate in and implement continuous improvement.
· Communicate effectively with service technicians.
Health & Safety:
· Maintain a safe workplace.
· Wear required PPE on the shop floor.
· Comply with company policies and OHSA.
· Follow safe work and lockout/tagout procedures.
· Report unsafe conditions promptly.
Quality:
· Follow work instructions and procedures to meet quality standards.
· Report defective or damaged products/packaging to Quality and Supervisor.
Autonomous Maintenance:
· Perform daily autonomous maintenance on equipment.
5S Standards:
· Maintain work area to daily 5S standards.
· Support monthly 5S cleanup.
Why this is the right job for you…
· O.S.S.D or equivalent.
· Valid Certificate of Qualification (Machinist – 429A or equivalent).
· Certificate of Apprenticeship.
· Red Seal Machinist or General Machinist License is an asset.
· Programming experience required; familiarity with Citizen, Hanwha, Miyano, and Hardinge CNC lathes.
· Skilled in reading blueprints and machine manuals
· Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
· Proficient with measuring tools
· Knowledge of quality inspection standards
· Knowledge of grinding, turning, drilling, milling, and heat treating.
· Experience using JDE system (Work Orders).
· Ability to interpret CNC programs and correct faults.
· Experience with Swiss-style CNC (Hanwha/Fanuc preferred).
