Scheduling Specialist
- Pay Rate: $72.28/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension and conversion
- Location: Houston, TX 77002
- Work Type: Hybrid – In-Office (Mon, Tue & Thurs | Remote (Wed & Fri)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- Provides project management support services in the areas of project planning/scheduling.
- Collaborates with project managers on the development and review of project plans, schedules, and resources.
- Develops and implements project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project scope and schedule objectives.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports on project data and costs from various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction, and accounting).
Responsibilities
- Full understanding of overall project scheduling fundamentals (critical path, dependencies, constraints, baselines, etc.)
- Responsible for establishing baseline criteria to plan and schedule workload relative to various complex engineering and construction projects.
- Prepares and maintains complex engineering and construction schedules for projects and programs, Level 3 – 5 resource loaded schedule.
- Responsible to ensure that project schedule aligns to company standard WBS.
- Prepares project planning and scheduling status reports and recommends remedial actions.
- Develops schedule basis.
- Carries out necessary preplanning to examine scope of work and services, work breakdown structure, engineering quality and quantities, financial and contractual obligations and division of responsibility to control and report on planning and scheduling activities.
- Facilitates interactive planning sessions.
- Works with third parties to ensure plans are realistic and achievable; analyzes third party contractor progress information.
- Prepares schedules for commissioning and start up.
- Determines schedule priorities in consultation with project leaders.
- Makes decisions involving the planning, organizing and scheduling of work.
- Recommends changes in methods and systems.
Supervision
- Typically reports to Project Director or Senior Management
Qualifications
- Requires a university degree with 10 or more years (or 15+ years) of related experience.
- Field experience should be considered.
- Experience with executing high-risk capital programs or projects of different asset types.
