Construction Superintendent (Intermediate)
- Pay Rate: $84.22 – $96.86/hour on W2
- Contract Length: 25 months
- Location: Hopkinsville, KY 42240
- Travel: Minimal | Occasional short trips may be required to vendor facilities in Kentucky or Pennsylvania.

Overview
Our client is seeking a Construction Superintendent II to support the Graphite Power Plant (GPP) project in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. This project is part of client's Advanced Graphite Solutions business and involves repurposing an existing facility to house a pilot plant that manufactures battery anode material (graphite). The Construction Superintendent II will oversee field construction activities, ensure safe project execution, support contractor performance, provide construction expertise during design and execution phases, and help elevate local contractors to company’s construction and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily field construction activities for contractors and assigned craft personnel.
- Support the successful execution of construction activities within project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Review, interpret, and implement construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Monitor construction progress and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Serve as a key liaison between field operations and project leadership.
- Champion and enforce safety standards and worker safety programs.
- Oversee fabrication, construction, installation, and equipment hookup activities during project execution.
- Respond to field issues, technical inquiries, and client information requests.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and construction guidance to local contractors and craft personnel.
- Manage field crews and coordinate the maintenance and operation of construction equipment as required.
- Participate as a member of the project team and provide construction input throughout project phases.
- Support project completions, inspections, and quality assurance processes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in construction planning, execution, and project completions within an industrial environment.
- Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent on capital construction projects.
- Strong background in Electrical, Instrumentation, and/or Automation systems, combined with a solid understanding of general construction practices.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- Commitment to safety leadership and promoting safe work practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scaffolding, rigging, and lifting operations.
- Familiarity with Construction Materials Testing procedures and ASTM standards.
- Experience supporting industrial manufacturing, processing, chemical, energy, or similar facility projects.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for short trips to vendor yards or project-related locations.
