Raise is currently hiring a Reporting and Analytics Advisor on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced business and analytics professional to support portfolio reporting, data analysis, business decision-making, and process improvement within a large and complex organization. Our client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

We are currently hiring a Reporting and Analytics Advisor to provide full-time support to a portfolio reporting team.

The successful candidate will analyze complex and high-volume datasets, develop reporting and visualization solutions, coordinate reporting cycles, translate business requirements into practical analytics solutions, and support senior leadership decision-making.

This role requires a highly capable professional who can work independently, navigate complex and ambiguous business problems, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and deliver accurate and timely reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Power BI and Excel, business analysis, reporting coordination, stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and executive-level reporting.

Responsibilities          

  • Analyze complex, high-volume datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and actionable business insights.
  • Develop data models, dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Excel, and other analytics tools.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear insights and compelling visual stories for senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear data, reporting, and analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to develop practical and effective reporting solutions.
  • Analyze existing reporting and business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and root causes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that strengthen reporting outcomes and business processes.
  • Coordinate reporting packages and recurring reporting cycles.
  • Coordinate stakeholder inputs, analysis, QA/QC activities, and reviews to ensure accurate and timely reporting deliverables.
  • Support internal and external reporting commitments by ensuring information is complete, accurate, and delivered within established timelines.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting, scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting packages.
  • Build effective relationships with project teams, business SMEs, Technology teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Gather requirements, clarify priorities, resolve reporting issues, and drive outcomes.
  • Facilitate discussions between business and technical stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are clearly understood.
  • Apply sound judgment and analytical thinking to complex and ambiguous business problems.
  • Proactively identify challenges, risks, and opportunities and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Support senior leadership with data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reporting materials for business stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, and adherence to QA/QC practices.
  • Support reporting governance, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Adapt reporting solutions and priorities in response to changing business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of strategic business analysis experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Advanced Power BI and Excel skills, including experience analyzing large and complex datasets and developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
  • Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and translating business needs into reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating reporting cycles and delivering accurate and timely executive reporting packages.
  • Experience with KPI development, scorecards, performance reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Strong process improvement, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of reporting governance, data quality management, and QA/QC practices.
  • Ability to translate business insights into strategic and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of business drivers, risk considerations, and trade-off processes.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, and other advanced analytics or reporting tools.
  • Portfolio, PMO, project, or performance reporting experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Experience within the utility, infrastructure, public sector, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, business transformation, business process improvement, risk management, or policy advisory initiatives.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Additional Information

  • This is a hybrid position based at the Edmonds Office in Burnaby, BC.
  • Candidates must be available to work onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.
  • Fully remote candidates will not be considered.
  • Full-time schedule: 5 days per week / 7.5 hours per day.
