Tool Technician I
Pay Rate: Up to $17.00/hour, depending on experience.
Work Location: Onsite – New Iberia, LA 70560
Work Schedule: 40-hours per week
Duration: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Raise is currently hiring a Tool Technician I on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment, and related production machinery.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical issues to ensure all equipment is field-ready and meets strict operational standards.
- Service and optimize specialized tools to ensure peak performance during down-hole applications.
- Assemble and disassemble down-hole tools, surface equipment, and various production components.
- Execute repetitive technical tasks, including cabling, basic equipment maintenance, and mechanical assembly.
- Manage real-time inventory updates and maintain highly organized supply stores.
- Ensure all units are cleaned, fully restocked, and prepared for immediate operational use.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial environment.
- Prior experience in oilfield, wireline, or tool shop environments is a plus.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Experience with repetitive manual work, including assembly, disassembly, cabling, and basic equipment maintenance.
- Capable of managing inventory updates and organizing supplies.
- High level of attention to detail and a disciplined approach to quality.
- Proficiency using hand tools, pressure washers, and meters.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various conditions.
